It is the last Sunday of 2019. The last Sunday of this decade and Day 5 of the #12daysofsexmas challenge. I can remember a time when the shops closed for 2 whole days at Christmas, and supermarkets didn’t open on Sundays at all. Christmas was spent with family for 2 whole days because, well lets face it there was nothing else to do! The sales didn’t start until the 27th and there was no internet – yes I am old enough to remember that far back!
MrH and I don’t celebrate Christmas the way we did when the children were little. We don’t put up a tree because our two cats would destroy it, and we don’t decorate the house. I believe that the true magic of Christmas is not in the presents we give or receive; rather it is in the love we feel and are surrounded by, when we are with family or friends. If you are reading this post and feeling lonely know you are not alone, #12daysofsexmas Day 5.
